Re: Adjustable Fade
My preferred version is version 30 version-30.png From earlier posts it appears that Gale's preferred version is for 25f: http://forum.audacityteam.org/download/file.php?id=6222 Why are we getting so hung up on tiny details when we have so little user feedback? I've been working on this for over 2 y...

Re: Remove wind
There's not a lot you can do with that. You may be able to make it sound a little less bad by using the "high pass filter" to remove some of the "boom" but basically the recording is too badly damaged to make much improvement.

Re: Lowering/Raising Two Different Voices
The envelope tool would be one of the best approaches, http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/envelope_tool.html but that could be very tedious if it is more than a very short recording. An alternative method that you could try is to apply an "Automatic Gain Control" effect to the recording ...

Re: Selecting where a split line is
What I normally do is the use the Time Shift tool (F5 key) to slide the other clips along and make space for the new clip. Multiple clips can be dragged together by making a selection across the clips that you want to move (this also works if you have multiple audio tracks). tracks005.png tracks006....

Re: New Fade Effects (poll)
I think Text Envelope may now be hard to argue for as a shipped effect, Why is that? One of the things that I like about "version 30" is that it is virtually a "half way house" between a "simple fade" and a full "text envelope". However, before spending a lot...

Re: Selecting where a split line is
It is "hard wired" that clicking on a split line joins the clips either side of the split, but do not despair.... You are the first person that I recall complaining about this behaviour, and as a frequent user of "splits" myself it is not something that I've ever had a problem wi...

Re: Updating Sound/Silence Finder
BTW, I have an idea that may dramatically improve "false positives". This new feature (if it works as I hope it will) requires no user facing changes, it's just a small change to the detection algorithm. When I get the programming right I'll post a demo version. Hopefully it will cause few...

Re: Static Help Please
(I don't work for them, but their stuff works for me.) Slightly off topic for me to comment, but +1. I have also used their programs for years on XP and find them to be excellent. As with most "freeware", the installers usually include an "optional" installation (such as Chrome ...

but do they sound very different? Do they both sounds about the same? Does one sound better/worse than the other?waxcylinder wrote:I don't like either - you're right they both sound a bit abrupt.
