Re: Recording with a 'Line 6 UX1' device
When I click on the record button it does try to do something in that the grey record bar appears but the vertical line that should scroll across the screen doesn't scroll. What appears to be happening is that Audacity can "see" the device, but it is not receiving any audio data from the ...

Re: Selecting where a split line is
To place the cursor at the split Iine, I double-click inside the clip then LEFT or RIGHT arrow once, or keep a label track underneath. You then only need to click in the label track close to the split line to snap the cursor at the split line. Even then, you cannot drag from the cursor point in the...

Re: Pops at edit points
So each edit is an exercise in splitting the track into two monos and then recombining into stereo? No. There is sometimes a problem finding zero crossing points on stereo tracks because zero crossing points may be in a different place on the left channel to the position in the right channel. Split...

Re: Deleting Clipped Audio
"ESP-Clip-Fix" is currently for mono tracks only. This as one of my first attempts at modifying a plug-in and the modification is written in spaghetti rather than LISP. I'd probably need to rewrite the whole thing from scratch to develop it further, but this seems to be quite a rare proble...

Re: Recording over a track, erasing previously recorded soun
I do like the comment that you can punch-in a bunch of times and pick the one you want. So it's not actually destroying the underlying track. I am in favour of "non-destructive punch-in" recording (like many other DAW applications) but very strongly opposed to the old (tape machine style)...

Re: Creating and searching labels
I'm thinking about adding thousands of labels to an up 48 hours recording that mark certain events. I can save you some trouble. Don't bother attempting it. The maximum size Audacity Project that can be successfully saved and reopened is 2^31 samples (just over 13.5 hours at 44100 Hz). Also, the la...

Re: Buzz in Audio
I notice that your previous posts have been in the Mac OS X forum, but you are now posting in the Audacity 1.3 beta Windows forum. Could you confirm which version of Audacity you are using and which operating system. (I can move this post if you have inadvertently posted in the wrong forum). Regardi...

Re: Lame encoding library not found
I presume that you are using Audacity 2.0.2? (please check by looking in "Help > About Audacity") For installing LAME it is important to follow the instructions exactly as written. The instructions are here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#lame If th...

Re: rhythm rascal- most efficient way to use with audacity?
I've not used Rhythm Rascal but I have used other drum machines with Audacity. One easy and effective way to use a drum machine with Audacity is to create the drum track and export it as a WAV file. The WAV file can then be imported into Audacity and other tracks "overdubbed" onto addition...
