Re: Editing only one channel

The easiest way is to use the track "Pan" slider. The slider will not visibly change the waveform, but you will be able to see the effect in the playback meter (and hear the effect clearly if you are using headphones). By the way, it is possible to click on the left or right edge of the me...

You need to split the recording into separate files before making the CD.
See parts 4 and 5 of the tutorial that I gave the link to.

Re: Adjustable Fade

Steve, I have made perfectly clear in that topic that my vote was for #30 but that I was very concerned about the reduction in fade types (hence I could not vote for #30 "as is"). Yes, thank you, but it is still not clear (to me) exactly what you require to make #30 something that you can...

Re: Need Help with Audacity

Audacity 1.2.6 is no longer supported (and does not work well on Windows 7). Please upgrade to Audacity 2.0.2 which you can get here: http://audacityteam.org/download/

Re: Adjustable Fade

@Gale, As a last ditch attempt to find something that you might support - could you support version 30 if it had some "Handy Presets" for novice users? I don't think that they really make the effect "easier", but they do provide "2 click" easy access to some common fade...

Re: Audacity Very Slow To Startup

Look in the Transport menu and ensure that "Sound Activated Recording" is not selected.

Re: Audacity Very Slow To Startup

As per https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... ug/1025578, remove package bluez-alsa and everything should be fast again. I think. I had the same problem. Thanks for the suggestion. Testing with Ubuntu 12.04 32 bit in Vurtualbox, launching audacity takes about 12 seconds with or without bluez-a...

Re: Sound mixer recommendation

I picked up one of these many years ago for the equivalent of about $15 second hand (it was my first mixer :P)
It's a bit bulky for what you need, but teamed up with a Behringer UCA 202 it would do the job nicely. (it must be an antique by now, but it still works  )

Re: Splitted output

This sounds like a terrific project 8-) The main problem is getting 24 outputs. If the synchronisation does not need to be precise, you could simply use 12 cassette or CD players with 2 speakers attached to each. If precise synchronisation is important then I think you will need a lot of potentially...
