Re: how to connect M-AUDIO Ozonic with Mixer?

Re: Adjustable Fade
OK and -50 gives a gain of -12 dB half way through for unity gain to/from silence, and all is exactly as per previous #30 versions, yes? Yes/ I think that -50 gives us a fairy "medium convex curve". Not too long close to silence on a Fade In/Out, but still a reasonable amount of curve. #3...

Re: Adjustable Fade
Sounds good to me, as far as I can tell. I wonder, wasn't there not also the quarter cosine curve? Not that I would miss it very badly. However, it is my favorite type for short fade-ins (Sine curve 0° to 90°). It has that smooth curve at the end, in contrast to a pure linear fade, with its hard kn...

Re: Uncompress FLAC to WAV
Audacity works (and can save) in its own specialist format. When you open a file whether flac or wav Audacity converts it into it's own format (I think). You then decide how to save it when you export. Other posts have already suggested the range of options. I tend to save projects in wav or flac d...

Re: Displaying long track names
It might be handy at times to be able to toggle the colour. That would be a feature request. Please feel free to post it here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewforum.php?f=20 Interestingly the original version of "display names in audio track" did allow the colour to be set by the user, ...

Re: Preserving quality with amplify effect
A peak level of 0.7 should be fine. There will be little if anything to be gained by re-processing the files compared with just turning up the playback volume a little. I have already recorded and saved the tracks in 16-bit / 44100hz, is it possible to re-open the files in audacity > amplify > save ...

Do you have any label tracks?pshute wrote:How come sometimes the name is shown in black, and sometimes in yellow?
I get names in black after a label track (which I think is a bug) but not otherwise.

Re: Musical Fade-In effect
I assume there is no reason the Windows Audacity installer and (more awkwardly) the zip could not set an environment variable if you wanted to raise that on -devel. This is part of a broader issue about what information Audacity makes available to Nyquist and should probably be considered in that c...

Re: Adjustable Fade
I think six pairs of fixed presets is a reasonable compromise. I can live with presets at the bottom of the effect. Yulac, Robert and myself all like the idea of presets. Good, we have clear majority decision. I think we finally have a specification for this effect. we must decide about the presets...
