Re: How do I stop audacity from using the internal mic
You need to set the Recording input to "Stereo Mix" in the Device Toolbar . If there is no option for "Stereo Mix", then look in the Windows Sound Control Panel to see if it is possible to un-hide / enable Stereo Mix. If Stereo Mix is not available on your computer then you will ...

Re: Displaying long track names
However, if you have another label track further down below some more audio tracks, the name colour of the audio tracks in between the label tracks changes as you scroll up and down. Yes I see that too. There is obviously a bug here. I've asked Edgar (who wrote the original version of this feature)...

Re: Recording over a track, erasing previously recorded soun
Thanks Gale. I'll have a think about a succinct comment for the wiki, but it might also be worth having some discussion on the forum so that some of the finer points can be considered (like "what will happen to latency compensation?")

Re: configuring the GUI
Regarding the "track name display" (as the feature in this group that is currently, partially, implemented). When you first introduced that feature I think there were some cross platform issues regarding making the colour selectable. Can they be resolved? The yellow colour shows up well ag...

Re: Alternative way of "sliding time scale / pitch shift..."
Can't you implement a shortcut for putting start and end point on time track? For example I set cursor position, hit key to drop starting point, then I move the cursor and i hit the key to drop ending point and... ready. is it, in programmer's view, that very difficult to write? I'm not a developer...

Re: Pro-grammable fade
If we beieve that it belongs in the proposed "tools Menu" then that's what we should aim for. This is a bit of a "chicken and egg" situation. There was a "Tools" menu in some 1.3.x versions (the code is probably still there) but the only thing that was in it was the (o...

What is the "x"?teeq12 wrote:audacity 2.x on windows.
Which version of Windows?
Does anything appear on screen while it is loading (such as a progress bar) or is it just slow to do anything?
(We can't see your computer so we can only work with what you tell us, which has not been much so far).
Re: disk full
Check that you are using the current version of Audacity (2.0.2). The version number is shown in "Help > About Audacity". If you have a different version, please update at your earliest convenience. I presume that you have checked that the disk does have sufficient fee space? If it doesn't...

Re: Pro-grammable fade
The configuration tool no more saves an *.cfg file It modifies the Pro Fade Out plug-in directly. Unfortunately that is not a reliable solution because the plug-ins folder may not be a sub folder of *default-sf-dir*. On my computer the set-up plug-in returns "Pro Fade Out could not be found&qu...
