Re: split all tracks at specific point

OS 10.13.6 Audacity version 2.2.2. The current version of Audacity is 2.4.2. It is available via the Audacity website: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/ to split all tracks at the same precise point 1. Click on the blue waveform in any audio track at the point that you wish to split. (For ...

I don't think it will be possible to recover the project.

We can try to work out what went wrong, which may help avoid future problems.

Was the project called "1.aup"?
Where was the project saved?

Do you recall what you were doing when Audacity crashed the first time?

Which version of Audacity are you using? (Look in "Audacity menu > About Audacity".)

Re: Move Cursor Forward 1.8 Seconds

If you are using the "Repair" effect (which has a maximum length of 128 samples) and your sample rate is 44100: 128 samples at 44100 samples per second = (about) 0.0029 macro.png You can then allocate a keyboard shortcut to the macro (See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/keyboard_prefe...

Re: Move Cursor Forward 1.8 Seconds

If I fix a scratch in one place though, it would be nice to jump forward exactly 1.8 seconds. (Sometimes they are not that easy to find by watching the waveform.) Scratches often show up in the track spectrogram view as vertical lines. (see: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/spectrogram_view.html...

Re: Audio playback in headphones

After any changes to the computer sound system (such as adding or removing a USB audio device), either restart Audacity or "Transport menu > Rescan Audio Devices" That allows Audacity to see the new configuration. Then check in the Device Toolbar that the correct devices are selected for r...

Re: Clicking/Popping - At Wit's End

"Audio Technica AT2020 Limited Edition Cardioid Condenser Studio XLR Microphone", a Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen Audio Interface, an EJT Pop Filter Mask Shield, and a Monoprice Isolation Shield. All sounds good. I've had 2 authors tell me that my sound (not my voice) needs improvement ...

Re: Editing function cut and paste disrupted

"Tools > Reset Configuration" That's fine, so long as the person has Audacity 2.4.2 ("Reset Configuration" is a new feature). I think it's generally good to give appropriate links to the manual as that provides additional background information and a reference if they need to fi...

Re: Paste Special

Perhaps "Paste Special" should be a built-in command rather than a plug-in? There do seem to be a lot of use cases where it is exceptionally useful.

Re: Windows 10, AMD Ryzen: Poor digital mic-like recording

for my new HP Envy laptop under AMD Ryzen, Audacity works fully but the recorded quality is as being recorded with a poor quality digital cellphone's mic...... You're not the only one. There are many such reports of bad microphone quality with the HP Envy. HP's "solution" is here: https:/...
