Don't use dots "." in the file name.

Try the Windows Sound Control Panel

Hopefully in the next release of Audacity (2.0.3, due for release mid January) there will be a simple "Bass and Treble" effect to replace "Bass Boost".
Reducing the bass will then as simple as:
