The project has track names that include characters that are not supported by old versions of Audacity. Try upgrading to the current version of Audacity which is available here: http://audacityteam.org/download/

Audacity does not support ASIO unless you build it yourself with ASIO support (http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/ASIO_Audio_Interface). I'm not sure if Audacity currently supports Jack on Windows. Zoom in so that you can precisely click at the place where you want to start the deletion.

For maximum smoothness, assuming that your computer and screen capture program are capable of doing it, set the capture rate to the same as the screen refresh rate.
