Re: problem with headphone volume whilst recording?
The problem that I'm having is that I can imagine you pointing: "the amp is connected to the Behhringer like so, and the Behringer is connected to ...." but I can't see what you are pointing at. Most laptop PCs do not have a "line in". They often have only a "Mic in" fo...

Re: Analyzing DC Offset
Topic split from http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=203164#p203151 The Normalize effect is supposed to analyze and remove DC offset at the users request; in my recent tests on 2.0 and newer Audacitys this does not seem to be working properly. What's the problem? Can you give steps to repr...

Re: Audacity file gone-data file still there
If your computer has not been used much since the (possible) accidental deletion, you could try the free program "Recuva" to see if it can get your WAV and/or .AUP files back. http://www.piriform.com/recuva

Re: Audacity file gone-data file still there
Oh sir, would you tell the difference between a help desk and a forum? Can we not pose questions on the forum? Yes of course you can, but we don't offer telephone or e-mail support. There are no paid staff here - we are all Audacity users. This is what is referred to as "community support"...

Re: Scanning VST Plug-ins (pop-up window)
The one under "Enable Effects" is the important one. Uncheck the VST option there.
"Display Effect in graphical mode" only affects VST effects if VST effects are enabled.
"Rescan VST effects next time Audacity is started" should not be checked.

Re: A Way To Analyze Audio for DC Offset
What sort of analysis? Do you just want to know if DC offset is present, or do you want to measure it? What's the job? What are you trying to do?

No, not unless you have extremely long recordings (greater than 13 hours at 44100 sample rate).ntkjohn wrote:Is this a common feature of this program?
What are you doing and why do you think Audacity is corrupting the projects?
Which version of Audacity on which version of Windows?

Re: new Audacity scans with every run
If you have the "VST bridge" plug-in, you should remove it. And how do I do that? The exact opposite of installing it. Go to the Audacity plug-ins folder and delete it. Of course you only need to do that if you previously installed VST bridge. Do you use VST effects? If so, which ones? Do...
