Re: Compiling Audacity to support ASIO without using VS
Audacity cannot be distributed with ASIO support as that would violate the license agreements of Steinberg or of GPL, or both. ASIO does not provide zero latency although it does provides lower latency than the standard Windows drivers. For zero latency you need to use appropriate hardware. Very low...

(defun add-partial (dur frq scal) (amosc (hz-to-step frq) (pwev scal dur (* scal 1e-2)))) The 3rd parameter [scal] sets the level. Try running this in the Nyquist Prompt to create a sound with a peak amplitude of 0.5 (defun add-partial (dur frq scal) (amosc (hz-to-step frq) (pwev scal dur (* scal 1...

Re: Tips on "gluing" tracks together by applying the same re
The default reverb time for GVerb is huuuuge. Reduce that to between 1 and 2 seconds. When you have your 2 "Dry" tracks (music and vocals) and your 2 duplicate "Wet" tracks (with reverb), go to "View > Mixer Board" and mix the 4 tracks together as you play the recording.

Re: Record commentary for something, audio goes out of sync
I recorded a 20 minute video and audio at 441 at the same time, like I did before. I exported the audio as an mp3, like I did before. I go to sync it up in post and the audio is about 10 seconds longer than the video. MP3 is a "lossy" format that will reduce the sound quality so I'm wonde...

Re: problem with headphone volume whilst recording?
I can't quite make out the icons on the computer task-bar - I can see Audacity and two other icons - what are the other two programs running?
Is that video taken with a camcorder or a webcam connected to your computer?
Do you have a second pair of headphones?

Re: Analyzing DC Offset
I've had similar doubts, but I eventually found one: http://forum.audacityteam.org/download/file.php?id=6434kozikowski wrote:Nobody could tell me a **real-world** instance where that wouldn't work
See what happens if you apply DC offset correction (with the Normalize effect) to this sample.
