I can't reproduce the problem.
Could you upload a file that is giving a problem somewhere on the Internet (such as Sendspace.com) and give step by step instructions so that I can reproduce the problem.

What is plugged into your computer and where is it plugged in? Please include everything in the list. Is it a laptop computer or what? it is a laptop , the only thing plugged in to the laptop is the uca 222 and it is plugged into the usb port Mouse? Keyboard? Monitor? Power cable? You can filter tracks using the Equalization effect. Let's take Audacity out of the equation for a moment.

Ensure that you are using headphones and not speakers.
Open "Connect" in qjackctl
Connect "system output port" to "System input port".
Can you hear the microphone in the headphones?

You can reduce very low bass sounds and very high treble sounds by using the Equalization effect (Effect menu).
