Re: Cant record audio using headphone

Gaming headsets frequently work in mysterious ways - not good for recording apps. Wireless headsets are even more quirky. If you are only wanting to record your voice, then probably the easiest solution would be to buy yourself a normal $15 wired or USB computer mic (for example, ATR4750-USB). The s...

Re: Audacity as language tool

My perfect solution would be to highlight a word from the mp3 file (typically 1 sec) and click the selection which opens in a popup like this. The selected piece in in green. The user now listens and repeats then presses record to capture the lower track. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding, but can't you...

Re: Macro - export sound as separated clips with macro

Thank you. Yes. I could do it individually manually, but I have more than 1000 files so, macro/automation is something I am looking for. Unfortunately, "Export Multiple" is not yet supported by Macros - if it were this would be easy. Do all of the files have exactly 5 sounds that can be d...

Re: Flat sound waves on Audacity project

Do you know how to make a ZIP archive?

You've posted on the Windows forum board, but your screenshots look like Mac. What operating system(s) are you using?

The computer recognizes that there's a new device, but when I strum it, nothing happens to indicate that it's connected .

Re: Audacity crashes with multiple versions of gtk installed

ldd of audacity shows that it is linked with libgtk-3, so it is apparently attempting to also link with libgtk-2 at run time. According to the developer notes on the Audacity wiki: https://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Building_On_Linux wxWidgets: Audacity's fork of wxWidgets 3.1.3 (https://github.com...

I think "original level" in this context means "the level that the audio was, before the fade effect was applied".

Re: transcribe piano play into

Automatic audio transcription is extremely difficult for computers. I agree that it would be a nice feature, but I'm also aware that it would be a very big project requiring a huge amount of development work. There's already some features that can help (such as " track spectrogram view ", ...

Re: Macro - export sound as separated clips with macro

I have several audio files and I would like to apply sound finder, and then export the founded sound as individual clips. e.g.) audio-1.mp3, audio-2.mp3, audio-3.mp3 each has 5 sounds separated by sound finder, and I would like to export them as individual clips. (For this example, it's 5 sound, bu...

Re: how to contribute / German documentation

Good, that's useful.

Both the Audacity manual and Audacity wiki are huge (and the manual is updated as necessary for each Audacity release). Would you be interested in taking on a specific section, for example the Audacity Tour Guide, or the Getting Started ("Quick Help") guide?
