Re: Recording mic/stereo mix at the same time
"Stereo Mix" is "stereo" (not surprisingly), so if you are playing stereo audio and recording stereo mix, then it will record on both channels. If you are recording with stereo mix and the sound that is playing is panned all the way over to one side, then you can record that in o...

Re: Continuous play of music
Try to avoid working in MP3 format - use WAV format for better sound quality. Import the music into Audacity (File > Import > Audio), then use "Repeat" in the Effect menu to repeat the track however many times you want. The Export the track (File > Export) and import the new file into your...

Re: monitoring
The "Hardware Monitoring" option only applies to the Mac version of Audacity.
On Windows, go into the sounds control panel and enable playback of the input that you are using. This is not available with all sound cards but most sound cards on XP allow you to do that.

Re: Tracks are merging
Ensure that you select the actual device that you are recording from (such as a microphone or line in) in the Device Toolbar and not "Stereo Mix" or "Microsoft Sound Mapper". If you are recording with a microphone, use headphones and not speakers or the microphone will pick up so...

Re: Cant Save
Well there's nothing obvious that comes to my mind from the details that you've given and I don't think that we can go any further with your question without knowing exactly what the error message was. If you make a new project and save it, does it save correctly or do you get an error? If you get a...

Re: Need to know how to download into a new track...
Please try to avoid writing all in upper case - it's hard on the eyes and it is often considered as "SHOUTING". I've read your posts 3 times now, and I still don't have a clear picture of what is happening. When you have recorded one track, (and iy plays back OK), you press the record butt...
Re: Cant Save
Please mind the language, this is a family friendly site. Let's start with the obvious. How much free space is there on your hard drive? What is the exact error message when it tells you there is an error? What was the nature of the "disaster" that caused you to lose Sound Forge? Has that ...
