Re: Wish: Update ffmpeg import from version 0.6 to 1.1 or la

You can currently use other (newer) versions of FFMpeg using the command line export http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/ex ... ogram.html
This has the disadvantage that users need to know what command line arguments to enter, but it does work.

Re: Record meter reading high with no input signal

The meters can be a bit misleading if you are not used to them. Although the level looks pretty high on the meters it is about -40 dB, which as can be seen by the almost flat line in the recording is quite a low level. That noise level is about the same as I get on my laptop from the built-in mic us...

Re: Possible noise issue in EQ A2.0.3

I can't reproduce the issue. Can you be more specific about steps to reproduce. What operating system are you using? Which version of Audacity? (look in "Help > About Audacity") What settings do you have in Plot Spectrum and Equalization? Are you applying Eq to absolute silence or to very ...

Re: First half of project abruptly missing

A quick Google search brought up Streamosaur http://www.wavosaur.com/streamosaur/
I've not used it but I have used Wavosaur (by the same people) and that's a good program.
If you try it, please let us know what you think of it.

Re: Ezcap USB Cassette Capture

Audacity's settings are MME/Speakers (IDT High Definition) for Output and Rec. Playback for Input 2 (Stereo) Input. The recording input in the Device Toolbar should be set to the USB option. Ensure that the USB device is connected and recognised by Windows before you open Audacity otherwise Audacit...

Re: First half of project abruptly missing

Audacity should be able to manage 9 or 10 hours at 44100 Hz. The problem is when the length of the recording goes over 13.5 hours at 44100 Hz. You didn't reply if the problem project was one that had been saved, but if it was then the original recording may have been longer than the recording when i...
