Re: Beginners Q's

Also, the guitar track quality is awful. Sounds like the volumes being pushed up and down. Kind of fluctuating. That is probably due to the Windows sound "enhancements" being enabled. See here for how to turn that off: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_recording_troubleshooting.htm...

Re: Possible noise issue in EQ A2.0.3

It seems that much is possible through filter design and in the uses of these. That's true, but changing the laws of nature/physics is not one of the options ;) The "filter design" is partly created by the settings that you use. The level and duration of the ringing can be reduced by maki...

Re: recording meters

If you mean that the meters are not present, go to "View > Toolbars" and click on "Reset Toolbars". If you mean that the meters are present but greyed out: Below the meter there is a little black triangle next to the icon of the microphone/loudspeaker. Click on the little black a...

Re: Help with Volume on Show CD

Would a limiter work, or a compressor, or something else? A compressor could help, but it would probably be better to do it manually. If you want to try a compressor, try Chris's compressor (available here: http://theaudacitytopodcast.com/chriss-dynamic-compressor-plugin-for-audacity/) Use the defa...

Re: Does anyone know how to do this?

Woh woh. This is all WAY over my head lol. I was just wondering if there is an audio plugin where you can Model a 2D shape with vertices and have it instantly converted into an audio wave. Oh, in that case I think the answer is no, or at least there are no plug-ins that I know of that do that. Howe...

Re: AGC - Automatic Gain Control

I've attached a small segment which has only had default AGC applied. When I open that, the sample rate (in the information panel on the left end of the track) says 11025 Hz. Click on the name of the track and from the drop down menu select "Set Rate > 44100". The track will then playback...

Re: eliminate rumble/flutter from cd player

Old cassette tapes can become a bit sticky inside. Try winding the tape through all the way from start to end and back again before recording it. If you have a good cassette player that works well you could try playing the tape all the way through on the good player before putting it into the EZCAP,...
