Re: Combining Analyze and Equalize
I'm also missing the Overview. What happens when the program succeeds? You get an XML file that can be imported into the Equalization effect. These are the EQ settings from your file: /Users/koz/Desktop/spectrum2.txt koz-eq.png The error that you got was because the "Save File To:" path i...

Re: Combining Analyze and Equalize
You don't realize how much you rely on the directory/folder tools in file management. Absolutely. File path handling could be improved a bit and better error handling, but in the absence of a file browser this effect will be a pain to use and unfortunately there is no file browser for Nyquist plug-...

Re: Level all songs
The best way is to load all of the songs into one Audacity project, then use the "Solo" buttons on the tracks so that you can listen to one track at a time, then use the Track Gain sliders to adjust the level of each track until you are happy that they all sound as you want them. Use the m...

Re: Isolation of individual voices on acapella recording
I doubt that it can be done. Even though voices sound in different registers, there is a huge crossover in the harmonics of each voice. Where voices are singing in the same rhythm it will be very difficult to separate out which harmonics belong to which voice even with the best and most expensive so...

Re: Extreme newbie...mic not recognized. Help!
Ensure that the Scarlett is connected before you start Audacity.
Set the recording input in the Device Toolbar so that the Scarlett (the USB option) is selected.
If you still have problems, what sort of mic are you using?

If you are recording one microphone, ensure that you use input 1 (on the left) of the Scarlett.

Re: Settings? have changed, recording sounds static/hollow/c
It sounds to me like a USB data transfer issue - the audio data is not getting from the H2 to the computer fast enough so the sound is breaking up. First thing to try is (the order of steps is important): 1) Disconnect the H2 (safely remove hardware), 2) then reboot the computer, ( complete power do...

Re: Male voice sounds Female on playback
I'm wondering if you have missed out any details of exactly what you did.
Are you saying that:
1) You record from the Zennox - you can hear it while it is recording and it sounds OK.
2) You press the Stop button in Audacity
3) You press the play button in Audacity and it now sounds higher pitched?

Re: Keeping Temp files longer or autosave feature
Try this as an experiment: 1) Open up Windows Notepad (or any other text editor or word processor. 2) Type in some text. (the data is currently "temporary" data, either on disk or in memory). 3) File menu > Close/Exit. 4) When prompted if you want to save the document, select to NOT save t...

Re: Can't hear original track when overdubbing
I did everything I was supposed to according to the wiki and manual and it's still not working Unless you tell us, we don't know what you have tried - the manual and wiki are big documents ;) What settings do you have in the Device Toolbar ? How are your headphones/speakers connected to the system?
