Re: Need help w/ eird Olympus file format
Am I correct in assuming that even though the Export category is called "Other uncompressed files", exporting to the 4-bit ADPCM WAV format (as you describe) will result in "compression" similar to that claimed by Olympus? ADPCM is not "compressed" in the same sense as...

Re: How to increase FFT resolution?
In the current Audacity 2.0.3 the FFT size in "Edit > Preference > Spectrograms" goes up to a maximum of 2^15 (32768). The developers decided that going higher than this is just too slow.

Re: Problem with Berhinger UCA 202 and Korg Krome Synth
I think the source of the problem is Synth's Maximum Output Level (+16.0 dBu) exceeds the UCA202 Max input level 2dbV (approx 4.21 dBu). You could be right. +16 dBu is about 4 time bigger than the Behringer device is designed to handle, though I would have expected that turning the volume down on t...

Re: High and Low Pass filter settings for VO
If you have a deep voice, try 80 Hz 6 dB per octave high pass. If your voice is not particularly deep, try 100 Hz, 12 dB per octave high pass. Low pass filtering should not be required. If it is required then you should really look to the cause of the problem rather than trying to fix it by filterin...

Re: How to increase FFT resolution?
Which FFT window size are you asking about?
Plot Spectrum? Wave track spectrogram view? The Equalization effect? Somewhere else?

Re: Imported .Wav is silent
I have a couple of ideas of what this might be. I suggest that you download the current 2.0.3 version of Audacity from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows (get the recommended "Audacity 2.0.3 installer", not the zip file). Uninstall your current version of Audacity. Run the 2.0....

but it does require "phantom power".Doc1958 wrote:nd no, it doesn't have an on/off switch..
Are you using a proper microphone lead with a 3 pin connector at one end and a 3 hole connector at the other end, and do you have phantom power enabled on the Scarlett?

Re: Combining Analyze and Equalize
With only 128 points it's a bit lacking in detail at the bass end (the first two points are at about 345 Hz and 689 Hz) but this could be improved with a larger FFT "Size" (but not implemented in this version).
