Re: I Just dont get it....
They actually on the DL said to try you guys That sounds like "passing the buck" ;) Audacity can record from any audio input that the operating system makes available to it. This means that IF the operating system makes "Stereo Mix" available, then Audacity can record everything...

Re: Getting Audacity to work with Ubuntu...
There's a tutorial for Ubuntu 10 here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Stere ... _Ubuntu_10
It should be pretty much the same for more recent versions of Ubuntu.

Re: mp3HD format?
Audacity does not work directly on files. When you import (open) an audio file, the audio data is copied into Audacity as uncompressed PCM data. Any editing or processing that is done in Audacity is on this PCM data. So no there are no plug-ins that are specific to MP3HD or any other file type becau...

Re: mp3HD format?
If I make changes to the mp3HD tracks, will the changes affect both the mp3 and mp3HD modes alike? No. Audacity does not export MP3HD. You would be better to use a third party conversion tool to convert the MP3HD to WAV, edit in Audacity and export as WAV, then use the third party conversion tool t...

Re: Re-saving an MP3, does quality suffer
My question is does the sound quality suffer and if so, how significant is it. Relating it to saving photos as jpeg and then modifying them does reduce the quality somewhat but not significantly. How does it work for MP3's. Yes, just like working with lossy compression in graphics, re-compressing a...

Re: How to remove skip between tracks
MP3 files always have a short period of silence at the beginning. This is unavoidable for MP3 files as it is a limitation of the MP3 format. To avoid having a bit of silence at the start of an exported track, do not export as MP3. If the exported files are for creating a CD, export in WAV format. WM...

Re: mp3HD format?
mp3HD is backwardly compatible with MP3 format, so it can be imported in the same way as any other MP3 file. The file extension should be ".mp3".
