Thanks Gale, yes that was a bug.
I previously misunderstood and was looking for a bug when crossfade was non-zero, but you meant the bug was when Eq power crossfade = zero.

To split multiple tracks in the same place, ensure that all of the tracks that you want to split are selected. You are using an obsolete version of Audacity.

You could import all of the files (File menu > Import >Audio), then use the Time Shift tool to drag the files end to end like this:
When you export the project to create a new file (File menu > Export) they will be automatically mixed together into a single file.
