Re: Saving .aup files
The easy and safe way to change the name of a project is to use "File > Save Project As" and save the project with the new file name. This will make a new copy of the AUP file and a new copy of the _data folder.

Re: Can't edit MP3 file
I'm not on Windows myself. That does not really give much information about the file format. Try looking at the files in MediaInfo (get the version without installer)

Re: Can't edit MP3 file
Right click on the file and select "Properties" and have a look to see what information Windows gives you about the file.
Is it really an MP3? How big is it (MB)? How many channels? ....
How are you trying to open the file? "File menu > Import > Audio" ?

Re: Noise removal (coughing) from a flute recording?
If you have a LOT of patience and a good ear, you might be able to replace the note(s) with the same note from a different part of the performance. Had it been a good clean recording, that would have been a strong possibility, but I think in this case the quality is too poor with too many other sou...

Re: Noise removal (coughing) from a flute recording?
Unfortunately there's not much you can do about that. There is a lot of room echo, ambient noise and indistinct stereo placement that add to the difficulty of isolating one sound from the other.
Here's a before and after, which I guess is no better than you have already achieved:

Re: Exporting all tracks in place?
You need to do a kind of manual "consolidate", then you can use "Export Multiple". First thing is to trim off any audio that may lie before time = 0. Ctrl+A (select all) Home key (move cursor to time = 0) Shift + End key (select up to end of project) Ctrl+T Trim to selection (The...

Re: Noise removal (coughing) from a flute recording?
Could you post a short sample in WAV format (just a few seconds) of the original un-repaired recording. (See here for how to post an audio sample: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 49&t=64936)

Re: Crazy error: "Latency Correction setting.."
Usually a buffer setting of 100 works well. (We're not concerned about getting the latency really low because we are not doing anything in "real-time". We are much more concerned about stability and getting the latency compensation accurate). Then set up the latency compensation as describ...

Re: Saving .aup files
There is an overview of Audacity projects here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/audacity_projects.html So, how do I save my work in order to come back to it the next day? Save the project. Note that projects save the current state of the project - the Undo History is not saved. Then I saved the...

See also this topic for some other options: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 48&t=71593nausearockpig wrote:The "In All Tracks" option is not applicable for selecting only some of the tracks, but thanks for that tip.
The Shift-Down Arrow & mouse drag you suggested worked perfectly.
