Ensure that the UCA 202 is connected to the computer before you start Audacity.
The recording input in the Device Toolbar should be set to the USB option so as to record from the UCA 202.

Re: Punch Copy/Paste
I thought the usual interpretation of "power level" was rms level? I would agree it seems more expected to maintain the rms level. Is there a very greatly increased danger of clipping if 0 dB audio is pasted into 0 dB audio than with the linear EqPower crossfade we have now? The maximum i...

Re: Rcording song from Keyboard
If you are using the built-in microphone on a laptop computer you are not going to get a good quality recording.

Re: Types of MP3?
48x should complete quicker than 24x.bitbybug wrote:Does it make any difference what speed I burn the Audio CD at? (i.e 24 or 48?)
It shouldn't make any difference to the CD, but lower speed burning is sometimes more reliable.

Re: Noise Reduction Q
It means that Noise Removal will be less effective. Noise removal works best on low level constant noise. Give it go, but don't try to totally eliminate the noise or the remaining sound will be horribly bubbly and metallic, just try to reduce it to an acceptable level. There's a useful article about...

Re: Noise Reduction Q
If the constant "room noise" is reasonably low level then the "Noise Removal" effect should work reasonably well on that. Sounds such as cars passing do not count as "noise", they are "performers" in your show and will probably need to be edited (cut/deleted) ...

Re: Trying to record both voice and system audio on separate
FRAPS does video with audio. The audio could then be extracted from the video.
Perhaps you could get a mic that has an on/off switch.Androyed wrote:If separate tracks aren't possible (at least not without buying expensive equipment), then being able to mute the mic with a hotkey is fine too.

Re: Where can I see the used volume of older recorded tracks
The record level is not stored in the project, so there is no way to tell from the project what the level was. Even if it was it may not be very helpful - if you are recording from a microphone, the distance to the microphone also affects the recording volume, as does how loud the thing is that you ...

Re: Trying to record both voice and system audio on separate
Recording computer audio and microphone onto separate tracks is difficult because Windows does not have built-in support for sending the computer sound to one channel and the microphone to the other. Probably the most common way of recording game commentary is with Fraps (commercial product). Other ...

Re: Rcording song from Keyboard
How are you doing that? You will need to describe in detail what you are doing, what equipment you are using, what settings, etc.gerewolf wrote:I have been trying to record a song on my keyboard
