Re: Possible to convert an 8 channel music file to stereo?

They were 8 channels already when I found them in the disc files. I don't really have any idea what the identities are 8 channel audio is usually "7.1" (7 normal audio + Low frequency effects) Wikipedia lists some of the more common channel mappings: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surround...

Re: Stutter When Looping and Using the 'Repeat' Effect

It can sometimes be easier to see the beats by looking at the track spectrogram view (https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/spectrogram_view.html). Try to identify the first beat of each bar. In difficult examples (as shown below) it may be necessary to perform a crossfade: https://manual.audacityteam...

Re: Set Audacity as default player

My advice would be, "don't". Audacity is designed for recording and editing - there are much better audio players (such as foobar2000 ) If you prefer to ignore this advice, see here for how to do it: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/change-default-programs-in-windows-10-e5d82cad...

Re: Noise measurement and spectral power density

Squaring a log effectively doubles it rigt so -20dB becomes -40dB(m?) Yes. the value (-20dB) is different then the value Jaaa and jnoisemeter are returning. If I run a full scale sine tone through jnoisemeter, it gives me a "RMS" value of 0.0, which is not what I would have expected, thou...
