Re: TerraTec DMX-6Fire-USB
Initially when Audacity is run with Jack the only option will be "System" - that is normal. The hardware device will be the device that Jack is using, so to use Audacity with the DMX-6Fire-USB with Jack you need to use the "Setup" in Jack Control to set Jack to use the DMX-6Fire-...

Re: Mac OS X 10.8.2 Problem loading Audacity
If Audacity is still searching for Waves plug-ins then you have not removed them completely.
Sorry I don't use Mac so I can't help with how to remove the final traces of the Waves plug-ins but hopefully one of the Mac guys can help with that.

Re: Remembering Multi-track names
I'm struggling to think how this could be implemented. The main difficulty that I see is that importing track names would require the right number of tracks to exist in the project, or that the tracks are created from a list, but then assuming that you are using the same number of channels each time...

Re: No input signal
There is no guarantee that Windows has the ability built in to record what is playing through the sound card. This ability depends on whether the sound card and the sound card drivers support "Stereo Mix" (sometimes called "Mix" or "What U Hear"). See here for how to ge...

Re: Poorly written looping wiki - need help looping
Making good "seamless" loops is a bit of an art. Entire books could be written on the subject and there are many companies that do nothing else but make audio loops. I think that the best that we can do is to offer general tips and advice and describe some common techniques, but even this ...

Re: "Cut Preview" improvements, also an "Uncut Preview"
2) Make it work too when selection has zero duration. Now, it does nothing. With no selection, nothing will be cut. Does it make sense to "Preview Cut" if there is no "cut"? 1) No net change of view, though view could still change during the playback. So, in effect the original ...

Re: TerraTec DMX-6Fire-USB
Thanks for posting the information, and good to know that the DMX-6Fire-USB works on Linux. When you have finalised where your page will be hosted it would be good if you could post a brief review and link in this section of the forum: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewforum.php?f=27 Does anyone kno...

Re: creative soundblaster card problem
Thanks for all the detail, that is really helpful. To clarify a couple of points: 1) The "Creative Sound Audigy SE card": This is a PCI sound card (not USB)? 2) The tape deck uses stereo cables from the tape deck and a USB cable to go into a USB port on the PC. Where exactly are the stereo...
