Re: audacity 2.0.3 - can't create tmp files
If memory serves me correct, Ubuntu has root setup in a special way to increase security - there is no root password available to the user, the system takes care of all root interaction via sudo - as a result there is no way to log in to root and consequently root will not act as a user and store f...

Re: Recording 2 things at once/muting channels
If the polarising voltage goes on the tip, what is the point of the ring at all?? That is so that it can support stereo microphones. Positive voltage on the tip and ring (relative to the sleeve) is quite common on web cam, video camera, minidisk recorder, and similar microphone inputs. The "st...

Re: Recording 2 things at once/muting channels
On the laptop (Soundmax HD integrated audio) there is 2v on the tip, nothing on the ring. Voltage is always between two points, (potential difference), so do you mean that on the Soundmax HD the tip is +2v relative to the sleeve connection and the ring is 0 v relative to the sleeve connection? That...

Re: Could Not Open Mp3 Encoding Library
I've tried installing every LAME encoder from 3.98.2 right up to 3.100.a Audacity requires that LAME is compiled in a specific way. Versions of LAME that have not been compiled specifically for Audacity will probably not work. Try following (exactly) the "troubleshooting" steps here: http...

Re: Edit Features of Audacity
My question is: how can I sweeten this music file I created: The solo horn is possibly a little too "forward" in the mix. That's not only a matter of volume (though I'd probably drop the horn level in the mix a little), but also that it is noticeably "dryer" (less room ambiance ...
Re: volumn
Check the recording levels in the Windows Sound Control Panel. There may also be an option in there to enable a 30 dB boost.inventorgeorge wrote:Any suggestion on how to control levels beyond just setting the input/output levels on the control board?
