Re: FFmpeg not found.
Which exact version of Audacity are you using? (look in "Help > About Audacity" for the version number). What exactly happens (step-by-step) when you go through the steps to Locate the FFmpeg library manually ? download as MP3 and convert with alternative software I suppose.?? No, best not...

Re: Preference File Editor
I can see that as not being very maintainable though. And to the extent that hidden gems are missed out, the value of this is diminished. That did occur to me, but it also occurred to me that if we have an audacity.cfg editor then it will be essential that we document (even if very briefly) each &q...

Re: How loud is the signal?
Found this advice in Wiki: (http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Deta ... se_Removal) It may not matter, but the link is broken. My very basic question is, how do you figure out what the loudest part of your signal is? Select the track (so that it is highlighted) and then from the Effect menu select ...

Re: Equalization less capable under Mac OSX?
I don't think that the Equalization effect has changed since Audacity 2.0 came out. Perhaps you have moved the "Length of Filter" slider. To make the green line follow the blue line more closely, move the "Length of Filter" slider to the right (longer filter). Moving the slider t...

Re: New Audacity Functionality: Real-time editing
Please point me to a place where I should share the scripts. Or is this thread that place? We don't have a place specifically for scripts (other than Nyquist scripts), so I'd say that this "Recording Techniques" board is probably the best place. Just start a new topic (new subject) on thi...

Re: Match audio levels between two track of the same speech
Alright...some noise removal was applied, but equaly for both of them. Did you use the same "Noise Profile" across both recordings? It's best not to do that. Noise Removal depends on a good noise sample that closely matches the noise to be removed. In the first sample the Noise Removal do...
