Which version of Chris's compressor are you using?
(if you open the "compress.ny" file in a text editor it should have the version number at around line 30)

We can't play a .AUP file - that is just "part" of an Audacity project, but it does not include the audio data - the audio data is separate (see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/au ... jects.html)

No there isn't much difference, but I don't think that you're likely to get it much closer without re-recording.
