Re: Preliminary "Phoneme finder" toy

Re: What effects are used here?
Thanks, stilll a little bit too much "hall effect" but it sounds more a like than it previously did You need to play with the effects. I put together that sample is a couple of minutes and spent much longer typing up the instructions to give you an idea of the kind of things you need to b...

Re: Cannot record in stereo
I am running an AKG Mic into an M-Audio FastTrack recording interface using the XLR plug on the back. You mean you are running ONE microphone into the FastTrack? To create "stereophonic" recording you need to use at least 2 microphones (or a "stereo mic" that contain 2 or more m...

Re: playback is garbled
So what is happening at the moment? When you try to record, do you see a wiggly blue waveform appearing in Audacity corresponding to the sound that you want to record? There's a series of "getting started" tutorials in the manual that may help: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial...

Well done - it works, though I'm not sure that I could interpret the results:

For speech recognition software, yes of course, but for speech recognition in Nyquist, I think this is a firstPaul L wrote:Am I reinventing somebody's wheel here?

Re: Latency Rate Changes Each Time I Record! Help!
What do you have set for the "Audio to buffer" setting? (Edit > Preferences > Recording). The default is 100 ms. If it is to low (or much too high) the latency will be all over the shop (as you describe). If you have it set less than 100, increase it to 100 and run the latency test again, ...

The developers are not keen on adding more preferences as there are already a great many.LordKarack wrote:I think there should be a way to store setting in preferences.
Would it be sufficient if it remembered what you used last?

Re: Persistent error stopping Audacity from working
We can't help with "still doesn't work", you need to give specific details - we can't see your computer. I have up dated the sound drivers So which sound drivers do you now have and where did you get them from? I have ensured that all devices are selected properly So what device do you hav...
