Re: Discrepancy in zoomed display of the region and of cuts
This is what it would look like with Snap To: enabled, and the dots marking the centre of the sample periods. snap-to-centre-dot.png It "looks" very nice and neat, but I think it is misleading. It definitely gives the impression that the sample times are where the dots are, but they are no...

Re: Discrepancy in zoomed display of the region and of cuts
And do I assume by the same logic that mouse clicks in the audio track would "snap to the dots" as now, so would now snap in-between sample periods rather than at sample times? If that's what you wanted, then I don't see any technical reason why not, though I could also see complaints tha...

Re: Incorrect Cables?
"internal microphone" is the microphone built into the computer.
"Headphone" is where sound comes out through headphones.
You need an input - if your computer does not have one then you will need to get a USB audio device that does have inputs (such as a Behringer UCA 202)

Re: Need help with recording a bass guitar
The other thing you can do is get a microphone plugged into your PC and record the sound coming from your amp. Personally I prefer to record guitars and bass guitars with a mic, but not plugged directly into a typical computer mic input (they are usually between mediocre and appalling quality), but...

Re: Need help with recording a bass guitar
Plugging a bass guitar into a microphone input is unlikely to work well. You would do better plugging into a proper "instrument" input, such as one of these: http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/UCG102.aspx Note - there are also some cheap Chinese copies of this device - don't be tempted -...

Re: Incorrect Cables?
Check the record settings in the Windows Sound Control Panel. Is there a "Line In" option?
What settings are available as recording inputs in the Device Toolbar?

Re: Zoom Tool
You need to switch back to the "Selection Tool".

On Windows/Linux you can change to the Selection tool with the F1 key - it may be the same on a Mac.

Re: cutting and removing sections, etc
Ensure that playback is "Stopped". Most functions are disabled when in Record, Playback or Pause. Also be aware that if your recording has a sample rate of 44100 Hz or higher, 15 hours is too long to save successfully as an Audacity project. Ensure that you Export your work as an ordinary ...

Re: Length Shortens when Track Is Imported
You mean 22 minutes and 46.29 seconds, and the Audacity track is 0.04 seconds too short? Is that a problem?EyesUpriver wrote:it's length is 22:46.29.
