Re: Labels wish-list

Do we also want the NumPad UP/Down to do the same?
I've not included that, but (I expect) it could easily be added.

Re: Labels wish-list

I''m beginning to think letting UP leave the label open could be more useful, not confusing, and possibly "purer". I think this is a (minor) bug, similar to the (now fixed) bug 636. In projects with multiple tracks, you can UP/DOWN between tracks, regardless of whether a label is open or ...

Re: Newbie need help

If the original file was in 24bit, and i re-export the same file also in 24bit, both files will be identical right ? With dither off, then yes (provided that you've not done anything to change them of course). All 16 and 24 bit values can be represented exactly in 32 bit float format. (A bit of tri...

Here's a little sample of an FM-tone that I then processed with time stretching, reverb delay and filtering.

Re: Labels wish-list

What do you mean by "or?" There seems only one selected-label state I mean, if you click in a label text area, the label is "selected" and "open for text editing". If you press "Enter", the the label is still "selected" but is not open for text edit...

Re: Nyquist prompts for AM and FM

I was a bit surprised that I couldn't find plug-ins for generating AM/FM tones, so I've made a pair of plug-ins and posted them here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 13#p211813

Re: Sound Quality Deterioted After Exporting Files For CD

I noticed afterward when I had saved the file, and re-imported it into Audacity, the project rate was 48,000 and the bit rate was identified as 32-float, not the 24-bit that I had originally recorded at. Converting from 24 bit to 32 bit is not a problem - the conversion is 100% lossless (perfect). ...

Re: saving music

To create a normal audio file, you need to "Export". (File menu > Export) "File menu > Save" creates an "Audacity Project" which is not an ordinary audio file and cannot be played in other programs. See here for more information: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/exp...

Re: Length Shortens when Track Is Imported

Then just move it along a bit to sync it up.
Many compressed audio formats have imprecise start times. If you need the start time to be exact you should use a high quality uncompressed audio format such as WAV.

Re: Labels wish-list

I think that you've raised some good points Paul, though obviously the developers need to weigh up the interests of all users, and not everyone will be happy with everything (you can't please all the people all the time ;) I agree that we could do with improvements to selecting labels and moving bet...
