Re: Flat Line with Terratec DMX 6fire USB - pls help!
I really wanted to work at a higher quality than that, at 96 / 24. There's a lot more to sound quality than the numbers ;) 44.1/16 can sound extremely good, or it can sound terrible. When recording in 16 bit you need to take more care over the recording level than when using 24 bit, but if you set ...

Re: Temporary Folder
What location are you trying to use for the temporary folder?
Check that the path that you set in Audacity is exactly correct and that it is a location where you have read/write permissions.

Re: Display true waveform instead of connecting the dots
PS: Steve, it seems you updated your post while I'm writing :D So the meter is connected to the project rate. It gets hectic when we're all typing at the same time :) Yes, as I added at the end of my last post, the meters take their input from the AudioIO stream which has the same sample rate as th...

Re: Display true waveform instead of connecting the dots
[:Update:] Robert posted while I was typing, but there is an interesting overlap  This has got me thinking about the metering. Although I said that with normal audio so called "intersample clipping" is not really a problem, there is perhaps a case for the meters to show the inter-sam...

Re: Display true waveform instead of connecting the dots
The pure Nyquist limit of 44100 samples is 17KHz audio, not as it is sometimes assumed 20 KHz or higher. Wrong wrong wrong! ;) If you don't believe me, perhaps you will believe one of the top digital audio engineers from Xiph http://xiph.org/~xiphmont/demo/neil-young.html) Now to my feature suggest...

Re: keyboard shortcut for split tracks?
I'm looking for a keyboard shortcut for split tracks. Couldn't find one under Edit> Preferences> keyboard. The keyboard shortcut reference is in the manual here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/keyboard_shortcut_reference.html I think you are probably looking for Ctrl+i After opening the ampli...
