Re: Bass Boost Q preset bandwidth
Bass Boost is no longer shipped with Audacity. Among the reasons why it has been discontinued is the fact that if too much boost is inadvertently applied, it will permanently damage the audio (non-correctable distortion). Bass Boost was a second order low shelf filter with a slope of 1.0. The freque...

Re: Silent Subliminals [solved?]
MP3 achieves small file size by discarding "unimportant" information and squashing the remaining data tightly together. Because very high frequencies are virtually inaudible, that is some of the first information to be discarded.

Re: How to record sound thro mic in windows 7
1. Surrounding noise means the noises from the surrounding places, like noise of fans, coolers, and other disturbances Avoiding noise when recording is much more effective than trying to remove unwanted noise afterwards. Find as quiet a location as possible, The recording location should ideally be...

Align tracks end to end
This topic is in parallel with a discussion on the Audacity QA e-mail list. As most forum users are not on that list I thought that it would be useful to also raise the issue here (and also post some screenshots). The question of how to join files end to end comes up quite regularly (for example: ht...

Re: Flat Line with Terratec DMX 6fire USB - pls help!
so I have tried recording on channels 1-4 and lo and behold I have sound on 3/4, and flat line on 1/2!! So is this how I would record, on 1-4 and then delete 1/2 afterwards? Assuming that there is no way on the DMX 6fire to configure which channels the phono inputs connect to, then yes I think that...

Re: Concatenating files
Do I need to create a folder with all of the files I want to concatenate, and the program then grabs them all? If that is the case [haven't tried that yet], it then seems there would be no opportunity to specify the order they are to be concatenated. If all else fails, try reading the instructions ...
