Could you post a screenshot?

While that is playing, set Audacity to record from "sysdefault" and start it recording. If it does not error straight away, take a screenshot from pavucontrol of the "recording" tab.

Re: 78 Vinyl

Does Audacity have the software to speed up the recording Yes it does: Effect menu > Change Speed. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/change_speed.html Note that 78 records have a different groove size to 45s and 33s. Playing 78s with a "microgrove" stylus (for 33/45s) may cause permane...

Re: Stereo to mono

Click on the name of the track (top of the panel on the left end of the track) and from the drop down menu select "Split Stereo to Mono", then delete the silent track by clicking on the [X] in the top left corner of the track.

Re: problems after noise removal

Please post a couple of short samples - a few seconds of a recording before Noise Removal and the same few seconds after Noise Removal. Ensure that the audio sample includes some normal level audio as well as some "silence". See here for how to post an audio sample: http://forum.audacityte...

Ctrl+M (think of "Marker" as another name for "Label") works during record.

Re: PCM/16bit/8Khz/Mono

Could you export a very short test file, just a couple of seconds, and I'll check to see if you really are exporting 'PCM/16bit/8Khz/Mono'" or if there is an Audacity setting that you need to change. To add an attachment to your post, use "Upload attachment" below the message composin...
