Re: Vacuum Tube Amplifier Equalization/Settings
A really good amp (such as the McIntosh in Koz's picture) does not have "a sound" - they are designed so that the output signal is as close as possible to the input signal, just "bigger". Audacity has a built-in effect that does that perfectly - the "Amplify" effect. Th...

Re: Audacity could be more helpful when paused ...
If I read Steve's comment correctly, Audacity does not receive any notification that the user has clicked on a disabled control. I don't know for sure, but I think that is the case. If the software can detect a click on a greyed out control then I would support giving a message in this case, but I ...

Re: Audacity could be more helpful when paused ...
I always think that it would be a bit more useful if Audacity actually told the user why a particular tool is unavailable How would it do that? The tools are greyed out because they are not available for use. Greying out provides an instant visual indication if a particular function is available or...

Re: Align tracks end to end
Perhaps a further option to perform an automated Mix and Render so that the user ends up with a single track would be useful too? As the sounds will not be overlapping, it would be much faster (and lossless) to "move" the tracks into one track (and delete the empty tracks) rather than &qu...

The left channel (Input 1) should record when Audacity is set to record mono.

Re: Multitrack recording - direct to Audacity or external de
The quickest and easiest way is to record a stereo track, then, from the track drop down menu, select "Split Stereo to Mono" http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/sp ... racks.htmlmosthimer wrote:how I can record with both microphones at one time and get two seperate tracks

Re: Unable to associate .WAV files!
All of the registry settings that are made by Audacity are handled correctly when updating. Association with audio files is not an Audacity setting. Those file associations were created manually by the user and instruct the operating system to open the files in a specified application. Uninstalling ...

Re: Audacity kills Sound after Start. (SB Audigy 2 Platinum)
Do you use any bluetooth devices? If not, try removing bluetooth support from your system (if I recall correctly you just need to uninstall bluez and reboot).

Re: Nyquist Noise Gate Won't Show Up in Audacity 2.0.0
Bingo! It took quite a bit of scrolling to find it. On Windows you can jump down the Effects list to find effects more quickly - for example to find "Noise Gate", open the Effect menu them press the "N" key a few times and it will jump down to the next effect that begins with &q...
