Re: recover recording after force quit

If there is nothing in the AutoSave folder then I don't understand why Audacity is offering to recover a project. It is the presence of the autosave file that tells Audacity that there is a project to recover. If there is no autosave file then Audacity will not attempt to recover anything, but will...

Re: how to playand edit sound programatically using c++

It is not clear what you are trying to do.
Audacity is a very complex multi-track audio editor. It is not an audio player and it does not play audio files in the conventional sense. Have you looked in the source code?

Re: Help Manual Download

The current manual is not available in PDF form, but it is included in HTML form in the help menu of Audacity (if you installed the recommended version).

Re: recover recording after force quit

Your first screenshot shows 2 separate projects (two recordings). Did you have two Audacity windows open at the time? If not, one must be an old project. Hopefully Bill can tell you how to find the autosave file on a Mac, then it should just be a matter of matching up the autosave file with the proj...

Re: "Nyquist files missing"

You have not installed Audacity correctly.
Probably the best way to fix it is to remove Audacity entirely, then reinstall it follow the instructions here: http://audacityteam.org/download/mac

Can you mute all instruments but one, then export as a WAV, then repeat for the other instruments?

Make a separate WAV file for each instrument.

Re: Does't recognize block (.au) files

it gave me an error message stating that about 359 files couldn't be found. For a half hour recording that is probably all of the data blocks. The _data folder and the .AUP file must be kept together, with their original names otherwise Audacity will be unable to find the data that belongs in the p...
