Mac computers do not have the capability built in to directly record what is playing on the computer. You need to use third party software such as Soundflower: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tu ... n_mac.html

For ClipFix there is the additional problem that it has to accurately detect where the clipping occurs as well as fixing it. "Repair" does not need to do that because it assumes that you have selected the damage. For "digital" clipping where peaks are cut off absolutely flat Clip...

I don't see how Audacity can have any affect on your system whatsoever when Audacity is not running, so what exactly do you mean?
