Re: volume

i tunes does not accept 32bit float exact ? I don't use iTunes, but probably not. 32 bit float format is primarily used as a production format (because of it's extreme precision). 32 bit float is way over the top for playback purposes as even the best professional hardware has no more than 23 bits ...

Re: Non-contiguous Select

There are several approaches that you could take, depending mostly on how much trouble you want to go to. One way: Select each bit of applause in turn and add a region label to mark it - ensure that you include the very start of the track, even if it is silent or just noise. Ctrl+A to Select All Edi...

Re: In step 2.. In set up, Windows 7

What is the USB audio device that you are trying to use? (Note that most USB electronic keyboards are MIDI devices and not audio interfaces) Assuming that you are using a USB audio device: Check in the Windows Sound Control Panel to see if Windows recognises your USB audio device. If Windows does no...

Re: Only Exporting the top track?

If you select all of the tracks and then apply "Tracks menu > Mix and Render", does that play OK?

Re: how to split two sounds from a single track?

I presume that it is a pirate copy rather than an official release version of the movie? In that case the answer would be no, you're stuck with it. On official release DVDs there's usually a menu option to select the language/subtitles.

Re: Tunnel Effect with exported files only

But it looks like way too much compression. It's a voice recording, so while the amount of compression is quite high it's not way over the top. Forgot to say - 32 kbps is about the lowest kbps (highest compression ratio) for reasonable quality mono voice recording. For stereo voice recordings, eith...

Re: Tunnel Effect with exported files only

As an experiment, try exporting at 320 kbps. Does that sound better?

Re: No sound when copying or when replaying in Audacity

Make sure that you connect the USB device before you open Audacity. The device has to be recognised by Windows before Audacity is able to see it,

Re: Lame

If you previously used Audacity 1.2.x, that had separate menu items for exporting as WAV and exporting as MP3. These options are now available through the same "File > Export" command. See here in the manual for more information: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/ex ... audio.html

Re: Tunnel Effect with exported files only

MP3 is a "lossy" format. There is always some damage to the sound when audio is encoded to MP3 format. The damage may be minimised by using high quality settings, but there is always some damage. The damage is permanent - there is no way to fix it. The damage is "cumulative" - ea...
