Re: You can separate a subliminal audio files?
But there is no procedure more automatic in Audacity? There is no automatic procedure for separating out an unknown and inaudible signal from music. It's a bit like asking if I have a gadget for extracting an unknown substance that is dissolved in a cup of coffee. If we knew exactly how the voice h...

Re: How Do I Monitor Pitch?
I'll move this topic to the "Adding features" section of the forum. Audacity does not currently have a real-time tuner, in fact Audacity does very little in real time. Perhaps you could use a stand-alone guitar tuner? If you have a smart phone there are some good cheap "tuner" ap...

Re: Selecting parts of multiple tracks?
No, Audacity does not currently do that. If a selection is across multiple tracks then it is the same time period in all selected tracks.
What are you wanting to do? Perhaps there is some other way to accomplish the task.

As you can see - I can't read the full names because the toolbar is too small to show the full name. If your computer screen is big enough you could drag the device toolbar bigger, or alternatively, look in "Edit > Preferences > Devices".

Re: How to get Audacity to operate ?
No, Audacity does not rip audio from CDs. Use a CD ripper of your choice to rip the CD to WAV format, then import the WAV file into Audacity. (Ripping to MP3 or WMA format is not recommended as that loses some sound quality).dlxreverb wrote:can Audacity itself rip the song from the CD ?

Re: plugin for podcasting/radio show sound effects?
Audacity is not designed for "live" - it is designed for "off air studio production". I've collected about 1000 sound effects that I have, categorised like a library. When I need a specific effect I just drag one into a new track. If you are using the same few effect over and ove...

Re: Just installed Audacity, help...
The Audacity manual is not normally included in Linux installations, but it is available on-line here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/
It can also be opened from a link in the Audacity Help menu.

Re: 2 questions
1) Is it possible to (after opening a .wav file in Audacity) to have the program record OVER an existing track rather than create a new track No. Audacity does not work like that. You can however record at the end of a selected track. Transport menu > Append Record ( Shift +R ). If you delete the c...

That is normal for a mono file. "Mono" = 1 audio channel. "Stereo" = 2 audio channels (separate left and right speakers).nomnom wrote: only one wavelength thing comes up. Is this normal
