Both are using USB 2.0 connections. ... https://forum.audacityteam.org/download/file.php?id=29859 https://forum.audacityteam.org/download/file.php?id=29860 I'm curious why that says "2 - USB". What other devices are listed in the Recording tab of the Windows Sound control panel? Is it a U...

Re: My mic moved mid podcast - fix available?

Yes I'm a home podcaster with StreamYard and Descript - so don't employ a producer unfortunately. Most podcasters are in the same situation. Being the producer + sound engineer + voice talent, all at the same time, is difficult, but not impossible. It can also be personally rewarding when everythin...

Re: Interface Input / Metering Issues!

You can check the different hosts (MME, Windows Directsound, Windows WASAPI); The options are different on macOS. Usually the only option is "CoreAudio". I don't know how many channels the CoreAudio driver offers for the UMC404HD (I don't have a UMC404HD), but Audacity has a diagnostic to...

Re: Behringer UCA202 Input Level too low

Swapping out the UCA-202 for either of these cards changes the problem from under-driving Audacity's input level, to overdriving it. I think those interfaces are designed for microphone input. The signal level from a mic is tiny - MUCH lower than "line level", hence the large amount of &q...

Re: Using Audacity for Quicktime Videos

QuickTime may not be your product but audacity is and QuickTime users may be using it. We are very happy to help people with Audacity. I am not able to help people with QuickTime as I never use it, but I am able to indicate where they can find help with QuickTime, namely the official QuickTime supp...

Re: Can only playback one track at a time.

They should all play as shown in your screenshot, though I notice that the track gain on your first visible track is turned up extremely high. Doesn't the first track play extremely loudly and distorted?

Re: Behringer UCA202 Input Level too low

Perhaps I have old fashioned thinking (from recording to tape), but the advice I have followed for many years is to nudge the recording level to the point where the VU meters bump the red zone during the peak output levels. Is this no longer relevant? With digital audio it is essential to remain be...

Re: Filter curve versus Graphic EQ

Question, when editing a voice over audio, should both Filter Curve and Graphic EQ be done, or is one fine over the other? It depends what you want to do. "Filter Curve EQ" allows extreme settings, with surgical precision. For removing unwanted sub-bass rumble, this is THE tool to use. Th...
