Re: want to increase volume of audio files in mkv videos
Audacity does not handle video, so if you want to process the sound in Audacity then you need to use a video application to put the processed sound back into the video. Audacity can extract the audio content from many types of video file if you have ffmpeg installed: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o...

Re: Scratchy/buzzy sound on recordings
It looks like data corruption to me: firsttrack000.png The buzz is a rapid series of clicks that are exactly 441 samples apart. My best guess is that it is a problem in the sound card driver. Windows will often install generic drivers for the sound card rather than drivers that have been specificall...

Re: problem with SAL
error: unbound function - VIBAMP Nyquist thinks that VIBAMP is an undefined function but the original SAL code is using VIBAMP as a variable . In LISP, functions always start with an open bracket, followed by the function name, then the arguments, then a close bracket: (function <arg> <arg>) SAL a ...

Re: Error: not well-formed (invalid token) at line 5199
Unfortunately I think that your recording may be lost forever. Audacity projects have a "project file" (in this case the "autosave" file, and separately is the audio data. If the audio data had been intact, than I think that the modified file that Gale posted should have worked. ...

Re: Changing EQ over time
It's late here and I have to be up early tomorrow, so if I don't give enough detail. please ask. Basically what you need to do is to make a duplicate track (Select the track then Ctrl+D). Apply the EQ that you want to the duplicate track (Effect memu > Equalization) To go from the original track to ...

Re: WAV to PCM 8,00khz, 16 bit, mono
The terminology is quite important: When you import a file into Audacity, you are not working directly on that "file" - the original file is not changed at all. When you import a file into Audacity, the audio data is copied from the file into the Audacity project - you are working on the c...

Re: Changing EQ over time
Yes you can do that in Audacity, but it's a bit fiddly to do.
Give me an idea of how much detail I need to type - how familiar are you with Audacity/audio software/computers?

Re: Editing music - End and Begining
I just followed your suggestion. I disagree. I zoomed in with the all white magbifying glass (not the one with a + in it) to where I want to delete from, OK, that's fine, that is one way to do it. I clicked the wave form But you hadn't changed from the Zoom tool to the Selection tool had you. To cr...
