Re: Audacity runs fairly good, work environment acts up
I don't know where my posts have gone In order to combat the huge amount of spam that was being posted to the forum we have regrettably had to implement a "moderation queue". This means there will be a delay before your posts appear on the forum. We aim to approve all legitimate posts wit...

Re: Audacity runs fairly good, work environment acts up
By the way, my view looks a bit more like the first one. Good, that's what it should look like, and so rules out one possibility. Aha, I see! So it might just be the fact that Audacity was in my case writing temporary files to var/tmp/audacity-temporary (or something like that)? I will try to chang...

Re: Audacity runs fairly good, work environment acts up
Have a look in "Edit > Preferences > Directories" Which of these does it look more like? What is the address in the "location" box? http://manual.audacityteam.org/m/images/3/34/Preferences_directories_basic7.png http://manual.audacityteam.org/m/images/archive/3/34/20120711081917%...

Re: Remove scrape from track
I don't think that you can. I think that is about as good as it gets. You could try mixing in some other sounds (perhaps a hi-hat) to cover it up a bit.vanad wrote:Have somebody any idea for cleaning this?

Re: static/distortion on export?
Do you still have the Audacity project? If so, does it (still) play OK? In particular, does the beginning sounded "staticky" and is the lasts about 5 seconds there? What program are you using to play the exported file? If you import the file into a new Audacity project, does it still have ...

Re: Karaoke, Rotation, Panning & more
if it only affects users in a rare Nyquist plug-in that has a preview feature. It's a rare feature because it's buggy. If it worked reliably it could benefit accessibility for many plug-ins. It's easy to test if it works or not. Simply select some audio, then run the following in the Nyquist Prompt...

Re: Recording Audio
During the recording the input monitor is in the red should this be the case ? when i play it back the output monitor is in the green ? The normal colour for the input meter is red and the playback meter is green. At the highest end (the right) of the meter is a small area (the "clip indicator...

Re: Karaoke, Rotation, Panning & more
Recently, I've come across another nan-value that I've not seen before (apart from #inf, #-inf and#-ind), but now I can't reproduce it - something with 'op' in it. I've not seen that either, so do post if you find it again. These are some common ones: (log -3.0) ; nan (/ 0.0 0.0) ; error: division ...

Re: Karaoke, Rotation, Panning & more
Rodger Dannenberg is aware of the poor performance on Linux, but sadly we have no answer to this as yet. For the sound case could be written: (s-min ny:all (recip <expression>)) That certainly does not work for numbers. Can we be sure that it always works for sounds and will continue to work in futu...

Re: How do I work on only one channel at a stereo file
You need the "track drop down menu", not the "Tracks" menu: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tr ... _menu.html
