Re: no sound while recording
The UCA 202 does not provide a grounding point, but really it should not need one. You need to discover where the hum is coming from. If you disconnect the mixer from the UCA 202, do you still get the hum? If you run the laptop on batteries with the power supply disconnected, do you get the hum? If ...

Re: Finding plugins when using Audacity built from source co
Which plug-ins in particular do you wish to use? Note that on Linux there are a lot of LADSPA plug-ins available, but many of them are not compatible with Audacity. I would therefore not recommend enabling LADSPA plug-ins globally unless you really need to (otherwise you can end up with hundreds of ...

Re: Audacity crashes when importing raw data
The audio file that you are trying to import would be more useful than the crash dump.

Re: Project Rate Not Using 44100 HZ Is Incompatible For An M
44100 is the sample rate for audio CDs, and these days it is the default sample rate for most good quality audio apart from video (video frequently uses 48000 Hz sample rate). Most MP3 players will play MP3s that have any valid sample rate. If your DVD player will only play MP3s that have a sample r...

Re: Karaoke, Rotation, Panning & more
Thanks again for testing Gale. Surprisingly the debug output shows no error. Nyquist thinks that it has played the sound, and yet you say that no sound comes out. As Robert wrote, I think that is a question for RBD. However, if Nyquist could use Audacity's audio in/out then there would be no cross-p...

Re: problem with SAL
Basically the same as Robert has written.... fmosc takes two arguments and two optional arguments: (fmosc pitch modulation [table phase]) The square brackets indicate that the enclosed arguments are optional, so you can use any of: (fmosc pitch modulation) (fmosc pitch modulation table) (fmosc pitch...

Re: Laptops amd mp3's
People say there are better music player software options It depends on what you mean by "better". In terms of sound quality there is unlikely to be any difference. However, as a music player I think that iTunes is a massively bloated, inefficient, nasty beast, (but that's just my opinion...

Re: Laptops amd mp3's
In terms of sound quality, the hardware makes much more difference than the software. If you are playing high quality recordings in a lossless format, then the software is unlikely to make any difference to the sound quality at all.

Re: problem with SAL
You are using the function "fmosc"
What arguments are you passing to that function?
