Re: Waveform and Draw Tool?

Yes I know about the frequencies, but in reference to the graphic representation itself, if the program is capable of retrieving the frequencies (light blue) of the vocal segment and showing that to us, then it should equally allow for removal of those segments. You misunderstand what the two shade...

Re: Audacity 2.x Software Recording

I've "disguised" your e-mail address. It is a bad idea to post your e-mail address on a public forum as it is likely to attract huge amounts of spam mail. On 2 of my 3 computers Audacity 2.0.3 works perfectly, but on the 3rd I can load up an mp3 file...play, edit and save perfectly, but wi...

Re: No audio on playback

Vocal removal works by "cancelling out" sounds that are in the middle of the stereo field (sounds that are identical in both left and right channels). It does not work with mono recordings (even if the mono recording has been "converted" to stereo, because the left and right chan...

Re: Bass Tilt Plug-in

It may not be a bad thing that the very top frequencies are not rolled off - you could try reproducing the curve using Audacity's Equalization effect with the "Draw Curve" settings, and compare the sound with / without the top frequencies rolled off. It may also be worth comparing the effe...

Re: Bass Tilt Plug-in

Here is an alternative multi-band equalizer function that you could try. The first and last frequency bands are shelf filters (hardware graphic equalizers usually have shelf filters for the first and last frequency). The "eq-band" parameters are calculated within a loop, which cuts out abo...

Re: Bass Tilt Plug-in

Congratulations on your first published plug-in. It attenuates high frequencies in a diagonal ramp across the audio band. That's not quite strictly true. If you apply the effect to white noise and then use "Plot Spectrum" from the Analyze menu, you will notice that the "diagonal"...

Re: Mix and Render problems

If the 16-bit track is being upconverted to 32-bit (or left as 16-bit for playback) then no dither should be applied to it. Thus if the 16-bit track was converted with High-quality dither "off", it will not have its NaN's corrected in playback, even if real time dither is "on". ...

The conversion from 32 bit float to 16 bit occurs "while you wait" (using the High Quality settings, but still very quickly) as soon as you select 16 bit in the drop down menu.
