Re: Problems viewing the wave form in AAC

Today I was reading the manual pages on tracks and navigation. Really too much to hold in my head for all the keystroke combinations. Audacity has a lot of keyboard shortcuts. The full list is here: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/keyboard_shortcut_reference.html Don't even try to memorize all ...

Re: Problems viewing the wave form in AAC

Where is spell check for these dialogs? If you are referring to the forum's message composing box, spell check may be provided by the web browser that is being used. I'm using Firefox. If I type _misspellling_ , the Firefox spell checker underlines it in red, as shown in this screenshot: screenshot...

Re: self-defined Macro: How to add ENTER? How to assign Shortcut key?

Hmm...Interesting - now it works indeed Super :) Would you mind explaining a bit how the NyquistPrompt command does the magic ... Sure. The Nyquist Prompt allows us to enter any valid Nyquist command , or even a complete Nyquist program, without having to install a Nyquist plug-in. It's like a &quo...

You just have to rename the component extension to vst and place it in your vst folder
Which "component" are you referring to?
Which post are you answering?
Are you aware that this topic is more than 6 years old?

Re: self-defined Macro: How to add ENTER? How to assign Shortcut key?

Sorry, but I don't quite get your point, @steve. My "point" is that the macro: Repair:Use_Preset="<Factory Defaults>" NyquistPrompt:Command=";type analyze\n(list (list 0 (get-duration 1) \"\"))" Parameters="" Version="4" does what you aske...

Re: ReShow Cassette to MP3 converter

There's very few hi-fi cassette players made these days, and most of the ones that are still made are fairly high end (expensive). However, there's still a lot available on the second hand market, and often very cheap (or even free). The downside of second hand cassette players is that some of the p...

I have no control over the record level slider when on Wasapi.
That's normal when recording using WASAP loopback. The recording comes straight from the speaker signal. If you reduce the playback level of your other app, then that should reduce the recording level.

Re: Envelope mode is sometimes invisible

The issue is now logged on the Audacity bug tracker. The programs I use don't work on Linux Yes that can be a problem. What programs are those? As time goes by, it will become more difficult to stick with Win 7 (the same happened with XP, but over a very long period due to the exceptionally high mar...

The same options do not appear to be available in Windows 10.
Unfortunately Microsoft have moved the settings several times in Windows 10.
Try this:
  1. open the run dialog with "Windows logo + R"
  2. enter: mmsys.cpl
  3. press the OK button

Re: Small waveforms, total newbie

Perhaps you are too far from the mic.
The design of the Samson Q2U mic suggests that it should be pretty close to your mouth. If you have a fairly quiet speaking voice, try around 10 cm from mic to mouth. What levels do you get in Audacity like that?
