Re: Noise Removal w/o Quality Change (& Removing swallowing?
Do I need to change the settings below get noise profile? The settings below "Get Noise Profile" make no difference to the "noise profile", they affect the "removal" pass of the effect, not the profile itself. The default settings should work reasonably well, but to ge...

Ah - you're on a Mac aren't you. I think the short cut may be different on a Mac...... back in a moment, I need to check the manual.

Re: Tips on using Yeti Mic for recording podcast in Audacity
Am assuming Carotoid is best setting? That is likely to be the best for voice recording, so I'd certainly start with that setting. Once you have some good clean recordings with that setting, then you can read up about the other polar responses and try them out - they may be useful at specific times...

Re: Optimal podcast recording environment at home?
Probably the most important things are: 1) It must be quiet. The quieter the better. 2) There should not be much "reverberation" and definitely no noticeable "echo". Typically, a tiled bathroom will have a great deal of "reverberation" - if you clap your hands you will ...

Re: Sound dead since I have install Audacity 2.0.0 Unicode
Default capture device number: -1 Default playback device number: -1 I don't know if Gale can cast some light on this, but in the current (2.0.3) version of Audacity, the device number should not be a negative number. I don't see how "-1" can be a valid device or how that can occur. Have ...

I don't use a Mac. I've played briefly with GB and it seems to be orientated more toward getting down music ideas.dancingletters wrote:I asked wondering if the difference between GB and Audacity warranted me slowing down the project for now to learn.

Re: Making multiple tracks into one (with equal volume)
Steve, I tried to insert a label and nothing happens. What am I missing? Ctrl+M only works during Play or Record. (To set a label when stopped, Ctrl+B will create a label at the cursor position, or a region label if there is a selection). Try this: 1) Open Audacity 2) Press R (recording starts). 3)...

Re: Recording Noise at 1000Hz and Intervals of 1KHz up to 10
If you use a powered hub, don't plug anything else into the hub other than the mic. Sharing the hub with another USB device is likely to cause clicks and "missing bits" in the recording.
