Re: Removing/smoothing a natrual voice crack/horse sound.
2. Sit reasonably close to the mic and have its switch in the -10 position. I don't know what you mean by "reasonably close" but you could perhaps try being even closer. As long as the recording does not start to distort and as long as you are using a pop shield, getting closer will help ...

Re: ALSA Question
I've done this in Windows before but not Linux. Actually you don't want to use a sound card; you want to stay entirely out of the analog domain. We're testing the capability of the software independent of the hardware. As I wrote a couple of post back, you can do that on Linux with Jack and the res...

Re: killing nyquist with extract
A little bit of information. A more simple example of how to trigger the problem: (setf xsnd (extract 0 0.25 (osc 60))) (setf ysnd (extract 0.25 1 (osc 72))) (seq xsnd ysnd) produces a crash: nyquist/nyqsrc/sndseq.c:198: sndseq_fetch: Assertion `togo >= 0' failed. Aborted The source file sndseq.c co...

Re: killing nyquist with extract
Thanks. I'll look into this further, but for now, does this work: (setq x-snd (pluck 52 1.0)) ;; make a pair of sounds (setq y-snd (pluck 64 1.0)) (setq y-extent (snd-extent y-snd *autonorm-max-samples*)) ;; get duration of y-snd (setq x-trimmed (extract 0 0.25 (cue x-snd))) ;; x-snd from 0 to 0.25 ...

Re: AIFF files will not play on iPod, will on iTunes
I don't have an iPod so all I see is the actual file names and given the length and complexity of this forum thread I want to be certain that I've got the facts right. ;) The results I was expecting are: 02-s-count-padding.aiff plays correctly. 02-s-no-padding.aiff plays correctly. 02-s-no-count-pad...

Re: AIFF files will not play on iPod, will on iTunes
Thanks for testing. The files that I uploaded have the following file names: 02-s-count-padding.aiff 02-s-no-padding.aiff 02-s-no-count-padding.aiff So that we are perfectly clear, are you saying that: 02-s-count-padding.aiff played correctly. 02-s-no-padding.aiff did not play. 02-s-no-count-padding...

Re: Removing/smoothing a natrual voice crack/horse sound.
Thanks for the clarification Cferra. A close friend of mine is a speech therapist so I am well aware of the challenges that you have overcome and I'd like to reassure you that your words in the video come over perfectly clearly. Having said that, I think that Koz raised some valid points regarding t...

Re: Noise removal, Voice amplify
I still can't completely understand what's being said in the recording If the recording quality is so bad that you are unable to make out what is being said, then the only real solution is to re-record it. Please note that we do not offer an audio forensics service for enhancing or retrieving audio...

Re: killing nyquist with extract
Are you using standalone Nyquist or Nyquist in Audacity?
Is your operating system Windows?
If you are running the commands in Audacity, are you running them in the Nyquist Prompt, or within a plug-in?
If you are running them within a plug-in, what type of plug-in (process, generate or analyze)?
