One possibility is that there may be corruption in one of the tracks.
You could test this hypothesis by deleting one track (click the [X] in the upper left corner of the track), then see if it crashes. Repeat for each track.

Could these "ticks" simply be mouth sounds? Obviously no-one wants to listen to a voice that sounds like the person is eating their dinner, but occasional slight "ticks" are quite normal. Some producers like to fastidiously remove every slight blemish, but most listeners will not...

Re: failed to read from a file in C.

Re: Crash on 'Fit to Height' - repeatable
When it crashes it just dies - no crash dialogue window. The first obvious symptom is that the 'Fit to Height' action doesn't happen - nothing at all appears to change. So Audacity "freezes" rather than "crashes"? The only odd thing that I notice about the project is that the fi...

Re: Can not save project or export
Have the most recent version of audacity. The current version is Audacity 2.4.2 . Is that the version that you have? (Look in "Help menu > About Audacity") Tried saving the project or "save as" new project with no success. "File menu > Save Project > Save Project..."
