Re: 2.0.3 - 10.8.4 MS ADPCM Conversion causing major distort
Considering that ADPCM is only a 4 bit format I think that sounds as good as can be expected. ADPCM is a very old compressed format that was developed for telephony, It still performs quite well for voice quality applications (though more recent formats such as Speex perform better) and is relativel...

Re: File missing after exporting
It is not recommended to use Audacity across a network - there is too much that can go wrong that is entirely beyond the control of Audacity. I don't know enough about Google Drive to know if data recovery is possible, but for future reference, always work on your local hard drive, then, if you wish...

Re: add Preference for Click Removal on import
I'm asking because I don't use these features so I don't fully appreciate how they benefit work-flows.
How is this better than using Click Removal in a Chain?

Is your computer a branded computer? If so, check the manufacturers website for drivers for the appropriate make, model and operating system.

When you look in the Device Manager, which driver does it say is in use by your sound card? Who does it say is the "Driver Provider"?

Re: Input Volume Keeps Adjusting down...
It is probably not Audacity adjusting the volume. Do you have Skype or other voip application? If so, ensure that they are not running (not even in the background). I think that you've already checked, but ensure all of the Windows sound "enhancements" are off http://manual.audacityteam.or...

Re: High pitched noise on USB mic recordings
Hi Again this is a short recording of silence for few seconds to show the whistle. That definitely sounds like electrical interference. If you are on a laptop, it may be due to the power supply. Try running on batteries while recording. If you are on a full size computer then it is likely to be noi...

Re: Beginner's Question
Glad you got it working.
We would love to make it simpler to record streaming music, but doing so is dependent on the computer and on modern computers it is often a difficult task - they don't make it easy.

Do you see a signal level in the Windows Sound Control Panel?
The answer could give a good clue to where the problem may lie.
