Re: No sound?
Plug-ins are not audio files, you can't play them. Plug-ins provide additional features such as extra effects. Plug-ins are optional, but if you want to use them they must be correctly installed. Instructions for installing plug-ins are here: http://audacityteam.org/download/plugins but as you are j...

Re: File Sizes Not Making Sense
Yes thanks I got the file. Your guess was correct, Audacity is being clever and reusing some of the same data multiple times. Opening up the SleepMachine3.aup file in a plain text editor, here's the first part of the first audio track: <wavetrack name="dishwashercd" channel="0" l...

Re: Missing Audio Data Block File
The log tells us that Audacity is unable to load FFMpeg - probably because you don't have FFMpeg installed, but that does not matter here. FFMpeg is an optional add-on that allows Audacity to import and export file types that are not natively supported by Audacity. Are you trying to open the project...

Re: how to install Clone Ensemble in Audacity?
You need to extract the CloneEnsembleV42.dll file from the downloaded ZIP package and put it into Audacity's plug-ins folder (the Plug-Ins folder will be inside the folder where Audacity is installed. Then rescan VST effects.

Re: Massive Lag
The symptoms that you describe are consistent with running Audacity on an ancient computer or under powered netbook. As you are running a fairly powerful computer it is puzzling why you are having these problems. Have a look in the Windows Task Manager to see what's happening in terms of CPU and dis...

Open the Windows Sound Control Panel and set the focusrite 6i6 as the default recording device. Do you see a signal bouncing up and down in the control panel when you feed in a signal from your CD players?

Re: Hopeless feelings#about to give up#anger# Lexicon/Audaci
Guitar is directly connected to the Lexicon via front Instrument connector on the left side of the box. On the right side of the box there are my headphones connected. I can hear some sound from the headphones but it's just some kind of a fizz, no guitar sound comes out of it. It sounds like someth...

Re: automatically strip redundant spaces from filenames
This looks like a good case for a plug-in.
Nyquist could handle stripping/replacing spaces in labels very easily (for example, changing " My New album Tack 5 " to "my_new_album_track_05") if only Nyquist had read/write access to label tracks.

Re: need tips for using Audacity
Lots of question ;) Switching from one editing program to another can be a bit confusing until you become familiar with the new program, so I'll concentrate on the basics. When a region is "Selected" and you press "Play", playback will automatically stop when it gets to the end o...
