Re: change dither to none? in quality settings?
"Resampling" is when you change the "sample rate" (for example, from 48000 to 44100 samples per second). This is where the "Best quality-slowest" ... setting applies. "Dither" applies to changing the "sample format" (bit depth) to a lower format - fo...

Not at present, but it's a feature that I would very much likeDickN wrote: I don't know whether the Nyquist resources support anything like that,
Sorry I've not got time to look at the plug-in right now but I'll take a look next week.

Shaped dither is recommended when doing the final export of "music". It is not recommended for exporting "silence". Dither is applied when converting from a high bit depth to a lower bit depth. Without dither, such a conversion creates harmonic distortion. With dither, such a con...

Re: change dither to none? in quality settings?
"Best quality-slowest" and "Dither" set to "shaped" gives the best quality conversion from 32 bit (Audacity's internal format to 16 bit (usually used for export) and for changing the sample rate. This is also the slowest and may be too demanding for real time playback, ...

Re: system crash when recording in Audacity 2.01 - debian 7.
OK thanks - your H2 is listed now. I'll be able to test an H2 on Debian Stable next week (please bump this thread if you don't hear by mid-week). In the mean time, try using a different USB socket and use the mains adaptor rather than batteries with the H2 and see if that is any better just in case ...

Re: Sync radio audio broadcast with television video broadca
" Software Playthrough " (Transport menu) routes audio from the input to the output via software, which is relatively slow and so delays the output, usually by about half a seconds, but the delay in unpredictable as it depends on the computer and the sound card and many other factors. &quo...

Re: Rip audio from dvd
No problem. It was a reasonable question. There is a lot of active debate on the Internet about the best MP3 format options to use for PodCasts and I didn't want to get into that in a "getting started" topic. The "preferred" format options often come down to what formats are supp...

A crash like that is likely to be a driver problem.
