Re: New plug-in effect - PopMute
talk to me about it Will do, once 2.0.4 has been released (as I realise that you are busy with that at the moment). Can we make it easier for such users to be aware of the installed Manual? We could put "About Audacity" at the bottom of the Help menu under a separator (like most other pro...

Re: New plug-in effect - PopMute
but I don't feel motivated to do it myself A bit of spare time on my hands and a brief flush of motivation ;) Here is a re-worked help screen that meets the 800 x 600 requirement and includes the "link" feature. Does this make sense and adequately describe how to use the effect? Sounds (s...

Re: New plug-in effect - PopMute
I was getting a lot of electrical impulse noise in one mic channel, which was panned right about 75%. The impulses were therefore in both channels, but if I set the threshold low enough to catch the impulse in the left channel it was catching a lot of other things too. I wound up using an old versi...

Re: 4 part vocal tracks help pleas
I would like to take a 4 part vocal track and split it into four separate tracks so that I could mute one of them for rehearsal purposes. Unmixing the ingredients of a cake rarely works. OR I could import the four separate tracks to mute one then blend the four into one. Yes that will work if you h...

Re: Recording length
Have you run out of disk space?
How long is the recording?
What are you trying to record?
Are you using "timer record"?
We've no idea what you are doing unless you tell us.

Try opening Audacity without the H2 connected and do some editing. Do you still get the crash?

Re: audacity 2.0.3 & flac 1.3.0
I'm surprised that works on Windows. It does for me, but I suspect only because I used a FLAC installer that placed the flac executable in Program Files. It should work provided that the path to the executable is defined in the environmental variables. "Installing" an encoder will usually...

Re: Can't record vst sound running on Anvil...
Two methods: 1) Run Anvil on one computer. Run Audacity on another computer. Connect the "line out" of the Anvil computer to the "Line In" of the Audacity computer. This is the simple and reliable method but requires 2 computers. The Audacity computer should have a "line lev...
